My client has no knowledge of HTML beyond the fact that it exists…and doesn’t care to learn it. Is there a way to configure EE so my client can create/maintain one or more menus per site?  At the very least they’d need to be able to create menu items with a title, description and price. Categories and multiple prices would be ideal but I realize that’s asking a lot 😊

EE, out of the box, can generate menus from categories or a weblog.  Weblogs with a custom field for description and price will get you what you need.

EDIT/ADD: you may want to look in the documentation and see if category custom fields will get you what you need as well.

hahaha, yeah, we definitely thought you meant a website menu.

EE would be perfect for managing a food and drink menu.  Watch the video’s Leslie pointed you to and then read about the weblog module.  Once you get it setup, your client won’t have to know any HTML.  ...just fill in a weblog form and publish.

Ahh, good stuff!  Thanks to you both.  That looks pretty promising. I’ve messed with WordPress in the past and the custom fields options they have didn’t seem to be nearly that powerful…or maybe I just didn’t understand them 😉 

To expand on my first question and take this a step further.  What if my client wants “sub menus” or categories within a menu.  For example.  Their Lunch Menu is typical and broken down into categories like Appetizers, Entrees, Deserts etc.  How might I handle that separation?

Great!  I think this is just what I’ve been looking for. I have a few other threads started to answer some other questions i have. If they go this well I think I’ll have the CMS i’ve been looking for. I was toying with the idea of baking my own, but my limited experience will make that very difficult…
