The title pretty much explains my situation. Here is some more info on my setup:
User is in a custom members group with liberal permissions.
Site is offline (of course said members group can view).
The entry’s status was set to “Open” before being edited.
I looked at the members groups and weblog preferences for anything to do with the status and can’t find anything. Hoping someone here knows. Thanks.

What build/version are you running? And make sure that for each weblog- the weblog has been assigned a status group. If it’s using the default ‘none’, you’ll see the above behavior.

It has not been assigned a group. That was the cause. Thanks again.

Hi,
I have nearly the same situation.
Site is online, version 1.6.0.
Each weblog has been assigned the status “open”.
The member group can access both status “open” and “closed”.
If I register with a memberaccount of this group and write or editing entries, all are “closed”. The status field in publish and edit shows only closed.
What can I do to fix this problem?
