I’m loving the Show All Tab in the 1.6.1 publish section.

With properly setup weblogs showing and and hiding what you do and don’t want on the publish customisation page I can now be less worried that a client will miss selecting the category if I they use the Show All Tab view.

One thing - is there a way that I can enable to show all tab by default - so that all options are available on the one page.

And is there any way yet to make a category a required field? It lessens the chance of forgetting to set it if I use the Show All Tab but making it a required selection would make it fool proof.

I know that I can set a default category so if it is missed it gets filed under something, but it’s annoying to make an entry that should have been put in a category that gets incorrectly put into the default category as a selection wasn’t made (or was overlooked) when publishing.

I’m not sure if the Tab Forward extension works in 1.6.1, but that would make the most sense for a solution.

Well there you go - another hidden gem I didn’t know about.

Happy to report it seems to be working fine in 1.6.1

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Fun. I was just thinking about this yesterday, so I google it and this post is the first thing that comes up and what a solution it is!

    I love EE.
