I’m considering EE as a solution for a rather large site redesign. One advantage I usually expect (whether it be extra or not) from licensed software over open source is the option to remove copyright notices.

I see in the license agreement that “All copyright and proprietary notices and logos in the Control Panel and within the Software files must remain intact.” I have seen some sites who are apparently using EE which do not display the copyright notice, I’ve seen some which display it only in the footer, and some that display not only the footer notice but also an EE graphic.

I can’t seem to find any stipulations on this. What are the requirements for a commercial license?

Greetings, and welcome to the forums. =)

You may remove remove them from the front-facing site with the commercial license, but the content in the footer of the control panel (the back-end of the site) must remain in-tact, and, of course, in the PHP files.

The stipulations are in the EE License.
