Is anyone using XAMPP to test locally?

If so, can you answer this question:

    1. Inside of my \xampp\htdocs directory, I have some files and folders. Is it okay for me to go ahead and delete these files and folders and install a fresh copy of EE into \xampp\htdocs to test locally with? Or should these files and folders stay there as they are essential to running XAMPP? Or, should I simply leave the files and create a new directory to install EE in?

I’m trying to set it up as close as possible to how everything will be on my server so when I test, the same code that works locally will work remotely once I upload the files. I’m using EngineHosting.

    Thanks

Yes, you can just install your copy of EE into the \xampp\htdocs directory. There will be some image files in there which can be deleted, but I would leave the other directories just in case they are needed. So, to access your development site, you will simply browse to http://localhost. Have a good day.

Ohh…did I just answer my own question? Yes, yes I did. 😊 I figured it out last night. :cheese:
