Hello,

My client is interested in allowing guests to post directly to his site. Is there a way for readers to flag inappropriate posts so that they automatically hide themselves for review - and notify the administrator?

I found something via search that would do part of that with some custom PHP, but I’m unclear as to weather that solution would meet the needs described. I’ve also asked Solspace whether their tag module will do this and got a reply that it does not.

If this function is not possible using a regular blog set-up,  does the Discussion Forum module offer this functionality?

You could build something like this.  I’d build a plugin to take the report and set the entry itself to “closed” or whatever status you want, and popping off an email to the webmaster.  However - there isn’t a feature like this out of the box.

The forums do in fact have a report feature, but it leaves the post open until a moderator takes action.  Of course, if that was acceptable for weblog entries, you could build that using the tell-a-friend form and a hidden field with the appropriate email address.
