Using SQL Manager to Disable Trackbacks

I have a site with 520 weblogs. All of these weblogs are set to allow trackbacks. Now I would like to set them all to not allow trackbacks, but I don’t want to go through 520 weblogs manually to change the settings.

So I thought I would be able to use SQL Manager to change the settings globally. I tried changing the setting for enable_trackbacks to “n” but that didn’t seem to change the settings when I look at the trackback preferences in weblog management.

Looking more carefully at exp_weblogs in the Manage Database Tables screen, I see the following trackback-related columns:

    enable_trackbacks
    deft_trackbacks
    trackback_system_enabled
    show_trackback_field
    trackback_use_captcha

Which of these would I need to change (and how) to disable trackbacks across the site?

By the way, what is “trackback_use_captcha” - I wasn’t aware that captchas could be used with trackbacks.

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer - I really appreciate it.

    Hey Frank -

I haven’t looked directly, but what I would do is manually get one weblog set the way you want it through the CP, then compare it to an unchanged weblog at the database level.

Maybe on a fresh install somewhere so there isn’t so much data to confuse.
