I see info on the database and on php—but nothing on the webserver itself.
Can we run EE on IIS or is Apache server required? Is one preferred over the other?

Either will work- tech support prefers Apache as Windows has been known to cause me migraines. But with a good server admin who knows their business? IIS should pose no problems. You might try uploading the server wizard- it does a quick check and alerts you to problem areas related to the server setup. It’s a quick and easy way to check if your server will be EE friendly.
(Of course- yesterday I was working a site on IIS where the admin did not know their business and a php upgrade broke things due to changes in how paths were handled and they kept saying it was a problem with the software/settings and I kept saying ‘no it’s not’- and it took smacking them about the head for an hour before they figured out it was actually the server setup causing the issue.)

Hi Peter,
Robin’s on the money with her response. I also wanted to throw in that we do not support server configuration, which is why the various server types aren’t listed. Its assumed that a server admin will provide an environment capable of running the listed requirements.
