Just like adding a category to a post, but in addition to that i also need to restrict the post to a member group.
    Is this possible?

The only other solution I can think of is to create one weblog per group, but that would be a pain in this case.

    Thanks for your help.

Not directly that I know of. Here’s a thought though…

Either have a drop-down custom field for the groups or custom statuses and pick one for the appropriate group. Then (either create a specific template for those entries or do it within a current template) use conditionals or template access controls to limit the display of those entries to the appropriate group.

That’s a pretty good solution. Probably as close as i can get without hacking the code or write an extension.
An extension that can populate a drop-down with the member-groups would be neat.. maybe i’ll try to make one.

To give you an idea of what i’m doing - I’m building a site for a school where teachers will publish homework and assignments on a restricted part of the site. So i have one weblog simply called homework, but I don’t want the students to see all the posted items.

But thank you, and if anyone else has an even better solution, feel free to share.

Another question.. would an extension such as the one mentioned above be hard to write?
I’ve never made an extension for EE but this one seems pretty easy to me.
