I have a page where I just want to display the category description based on the link selected.

I have the segment_3 I can use, but it’s in the format C5, for example.  I’m trying to just get the 5 and use that for the show= in my weblog:categories loop.  I don’t know if I am taking the right approach.  If so, how do I get the 5 only?

Maybe there is a better way?

    thanks

If this is a category page there is no need to manuall tell EE which category to display - as long as you haven’t set “dynamic=“off” in your weblog entries tag EE will automagically pull the entries for the category indicated in the URL.

Then you can use the category headingtag to display the description.

OK - GREAT! sounds like a better solution than my php workaround.  I knew there had to be the right way to do it.

    thanks
