    I’m using Expression Engine 1.6.0 20070815 with Discussion Forum 2.0.0

    After setting up the forums module and getting the forums ready I’m getting a “Status: 404 Not Found”

    I also have the wiki installed and that’s showing, however the forums resolve to a plain text Status: 404 Not Found message.

    Anyone have a clue as to how I should trouble shoot this?

    Thanks!

    Do you have a link to where we can see this? Also, can you make sure both EE and the forums are on the latest build? There was one released two days ago for each.

    Updating all now, be back in a few.

    On sharing the link—would you mind if I shared it privately?

    OK. All updated to the latest build—Expression Engine, MSM, and the Community Forums module.

    Go ahead and send it privately.  But - can you post the URL to your forums (the part after index.php is fine, no need to include the domain), and the forum trigger word? Also, are you running these normally, or through a template?

    I’m still in the setup and get started phase. So far I haen’t that great of luck with MSM.

    I’m using the default templates for now to get setup, and then I’m going to be building my own template from the design for the site.

    Right now, the Forums aren’t showing—the URL resolves to the site’s index template as you can see output.

    I’m using the typical forums trigger: /forums/

    Ok, I need to dig around a bit more because I’m not seeing anything really “typical” here.  Can you PM the following details:

    * URL to this thread for reference
    * Superadmin ID and Password
    * URL to your control panel

    Thanks!

    So, I sat there, staring at your site, going, “I’ve seen this before.”

    And I had!

    You were missing this in config.php:

    $conf['forum_is_installed'] = "y";

    I took the liberty of adding it, your forums now show up as they should. =)

    SWEET! Wonder how that didn’t get written to the config, they were writable (666).

    Anyways…Thanks for the help Lisa!

    I noted that they were 666, sometimes it happens.  Sometimes I yell at my computer and then weird things happen. I recommend speaking nicely to yours, they behave better then….
