My son and I are headed to Germany and the Czech Republic early October. I’ll take some cash, of course, but have planned on using the ubiquitous ATM machines.
A while back, Chase issued me a one their new(ish) “Blink” Visa cards. It doesn’t have a “Pulse” or other network logo on the back, so I called to make sure I could use it to withdraw funds at an ATM over there. They assured me I could.
Just to play it safe, I thought I’d ask around, including here: anyone had a chance to use these Chase “Blink” cards in ATMs in Germany or the Czech Republic? (Or, I guess, anywhere in Europe?)
Also, I have a Capital One debit card. It does have a “Pulse” logo on the back. Anyone used Capital One debit card successfully in European ATMs?
Maybe a bit of a long shot asking here, but I figured, why not? It’s a slow holiday. 😊
(Long ago in another life, I lived for two years in small village on the German/Czech border. My son, now 26, grew up on those tall tales, so before we both get into positions where we can’t, I thought it time for some more serious father/son bonding with a two-week tear through that area, showing him places and things he’s heard about forever. Really looking forward to it!)
