EE providers - any reviews?

    Hello,

I still haven’t given up on moving my site/forums to EE.  I think it is the right thing to do and will support future custom features that I want to implement.

My problem is that I do not have the technical or design expertise to migrate over to EE.  I’ve taken a look at the EE Professional list and will start contacting some of them.

Is there a place where people have posted their experiences with certain providers?  This process is similar to finding a contractor to do work on my home.  A referral would certainly go a long way.

    Thanks!

You should contact sales to have them post your request on the jobs board.  You can then look through the replies to see who might suit you best.  You could also look through the pro network but doing both would likely get you the best results.  I am sure Leslie (answers the sales email) could help you out with a recommendation as certain people in the pro network specialize in certain things.  You should probably include the system that you are trying to migrate from as well as your time frame.

Thank you, John. =) What John said is correct, except that you needn’t contact sales - simply head to the Job Board, purchase a credit and post away!

    Thanks for the replies!

I noticed the Job Board a few months ago but it’s hard for me to gauge whether people are getting results from it.  All I see is 0 Replies and xxx Views.

I’m trying to figure out the size and cost of my project and I think the experiences others have had would be very useful.  Although EE experts may be found on Rent A Coder and eLance, I imagine this community here is where the majority of them ‘hang out’. 😊

Before I invest in this project, I want to know that I have the right people working on it.  And I won’t know this unless I talk to people who have experience with various providers.

Maybe I’m in the minority, but I feel like I need a bit more hand holding.  I’m going to contact Sales in the hopes that they can point me in the right direction.

    Thanks again!

If I were in your shoes, I’d browse the members of the Pro Network, contact a few, see how they respond, what they think of the project, how much they’d charge, if you feel you can work with them… Take it from there.
