Is there an easy way to suppress
    the default-URL-location display
    of the Wiki member list?
(I can hide the “member_list” and
“register” buttons of the Wiki by
    editing the wiki theme template,
but the member list is presumably
    still displayed at the default
    location.
Also, even if I hide the register
button then someone may still be able
    to register themeselves by going
    to the default registration URL.
    I’d like only logged-in members
to be able to view the member list,
and I’d like to completely disable
    user self-registration (or change
the default URL of the registration
    screen).

Hi, Keith - which member list are you talking about? The one to the left?  I’m not quite sure what you’re looking at or the specific item you’re asking about. I’d be happy to help if you can clarify a bit.  Thank you!

At the top of the Wiki there are
Login, Register, and Member List links.
I can hide the Register and Member List
links by editing the templates, but
presumably this does not disable the
display of Register and Member List
    pages at the default locations—
even if someone is not logged in,
they can view the member list.

I don’t want people to be able to
    register themselves, and don’t want
them to be able to view the member
list (which gives away valid User IDs,
    allowing password attacks) unless
    they are logged-in members.

Ah, you want to go here: Admin ›  Members and Groups ›  Member Groups ›  Edit Member Group ›  Members and turn off “Can View Public Profiles[/color] for the guest member group.

Thanks, (actually guessed that just before seeing
your message).  Can’t see a choice whether member
(or SuperAdmin, for that matter) can set his or
her profile to be non-public.  Probably a hyper
paranoid security freak SuperAdmin would not want
even members to know his or her User ID 😉

As in the number?  There’s no harm in them knowing the number, I don’t see that it matters if they know it.

And no, there’s not a feature for that to be a choice for a member at the moment. You could put in a feature request for that.
