Is it possible to take two separate 1.5.2 installations of EE and merge them into a single Multi-Site 1.6.0 version of EE?

There is no built-in way to bring them together. You could use one of the many export/import methods, or direct database manipulation. You might be interested in looking at FeedGrab and CSVGrab plugins, or exporting into MT format and importing using our utility.

I recommend the latter route, exporting one blog in MT file format, then re-importing. Least hassle, all things considered.

Site A has 12 blogs, and Site B has 15 blogs… lots of data.
I would like to turn Site B to multi-site aware and make the original site Site B-1.
Then bring Site A into Site B as Site B-2.
Would using the MT export still be the best solution for this?
