    Hey all -

I’m not configuring the server, just setting up the content structure and the templates.  I go to my control panel and there is pretty much nothing there.  I can edit my own profile and that’s pretty much it.  Is there anything I can do?  I have ftp access.

    thanks -

    Hi Panzhuli,

Can you clarify what you mean by “nothing there?” It sounds like you are seeing a Control Panel (ie, you can see the design, the color scheme, etc…) but that the only Tab available is the “My Account” tab. Is that correct? Or are you seeing a blank screen or un-styled text?

If indeed you are only seeing a My Account tab or something similar, than there is a good chance your account on the installation is not a Super-Admin account and that you don’t have the privileges to see other parts of the control panel. If that’s the case, you’ll need to have whoever has Super-admin control of the site increase the permissions your account has.

attached is what I’m seeing.  I’ll contact my admin to see if preferences can be changed.

It looks like you may just be logging into the site and not into the Control Panel itself. An ExpressionEngine installation has a separate login for the Control than the main site. Typically this login is found at:

    <a href="http://example.com/system/">http://example.com/system/</a>

Where “system” is the main ExpressionEngine folder on the server. Hopefully the admin can let you know where the system folder is, though if you have FTP access you can FTP into the site, find the system folder, and then point your browser there.
