How to display list of categories with posts in alphabetical order?

Imagine that each month teens submit writing in many different categories. We have essays, poems, prose, etc.

Is it possible to create a page like:

June - Published Writing
Essays:
Alphabetical 1 Title - Link to entry
Alphabetical 2 Title - Link to entry
Alphabetical 3 Title - Link to entry
Poems:
Alphabetical 1 Title - Link to entry
Alphabetical 2 Title - Link to entry
Alphabetical 3 Title - Link to entry

??

Any suggestions on the best way to accomplish this?

I know I’m asking a whole bunch of disjointed questions, and I’m sure that I’d be much better served by approaching the site in a step-by-step fashion, but I’m not sure where to start.
