I need to create an event listing section for a client and I wondered if I could get some advice about how best to organise it in EE.

The data needed would be:

Venue
Date
DJs playing

Now, there will only ever be a small number of venues and Djs, so I want the lists of these to be in EE somehow, so that when a new event is added, Venue isnt necessarily a free type text box, it should be a dropdown list. Same for DJ, if possible.

That way I can create links such as “see other events at this venue”

How do I go about listing these events grouped by month, as on this example page:

I think you’re going to want to make your DJs and your Venues related entries and you’ll just list your entries with the date heading tag set to month.
