I have a template that displays the a listing of recent entries.

The default behavior is to show a listing of entries in the current week, but if the listing is a category request, I want to show all entries that belong to the category.

Since I have to set start_on in the entries tag, and can only find out if its a category request after the fact, what would be the best way to implement this?

First - upgrade to a new build, there have been over a dozen bug fixes since that build and I highly recommend updating immediately.

Your best option is to use a separate template for category requests.

As a follow up, is there a way to find out which category is being requested?  I looked at the weblog entries documentation, but because my entries belong to multiple categories, I’m not sure how the {categories} tag would help?

If the url is http://site/group/template/C14/  I wan’t a heading in the page that is the actual category title for C14.

EE knows, because of that C14 in the URL.  So see the category heading tag =)

Perfect.  Thanks for the quick response.
