    note to mods: I hate to post this here, since it’s really more of a tech support question, I suppose… but I don’t have access to my client’s account… sorry.

    ——-

    I’m setting up a gallery in an EE install that is running from XAMPP on a Windows server.

    The XAMPP install is at c:\program_files\xampp
    The webroot is c:\program_files\xampp\htdocs\website
    So my image directory would be c:\program_files\xampp\htdocs\website\files\tours
    And the batch directory would be c:\program_files\xampp\htdocs\website\batch-upload

    I’m uncertain as to how to specify these paths in setting up a new gallery…

    If anybody has experience with EE on XAMPP, any advice would be very helpful…

    thanks!

    the paths required are:

    Image Paths
    * Image Folder Name
    * Server Path to Image Directory
    * Full URL to Image Directory

    Processing Preferences
    * Batch Processing Folder
    * Server Path to Batch Folder
    * Full URL to Batch Directory

    When I try to specify a disk path (Windows-style) in the Server Path fields, EE converts my backslashses forward slashes…

    help?

    After playing around with it a bit, it seems forward and backward slashes are interchangeable in the Server Path field.  Weird… but it works.

    I’m just getting into this with XAMPP also (usually I use MAMP).

    I’ve noticed two methods of paths. Actually, I’ve noticed three, once where there were no slashes in the File Uploads Path, but I just fixed that.

    Sometimes (in Gen Config prefs) it’s listed like this:
    C:www/xampp/htdocs/website/

    I’ve seen this also:
    C:\www\xampp\htdocs\website\images\forum_attachments/

    Haven’t been able to see if this will cause problems, but you can imagine I’m concerned that I’ll be paying the price later.  😊
