Where do I start?  I’ve searched on “contact form” but only found lots of posts by people who had problems with their form!

I’ve just discovered how to do this myself for the first time, so I know how confusing it may be.

Start by installing the “Email” module on the Modules page of your control panel. If you have a recent version of EE, it should be on the Modules page by default, but not installed.

The documentation for setting up a simple contact form can be found at: http://expressionengine.com/docs/modules/email/contact_form.html

This gives you example code you can copy and paste to get your form up and running quickly.

I would also suggest checking out Solspace’s Freeform module for more advanced form features. It’s free and can be found at: http://solspace.com/software/detail/freeform/

And in case you’re interested, the documentation for Freeform can be found at http://solspace.com/docs/c/Freeform25
