I currently run the Core version of EE with Mark Huot’s static pages module installed. I want to buy a personal licence as EE is exactly what I need to manage my website.

Can you let me know if there’s any issues with upgrading 1.5.2 to 1.6? Also, if there is a guide to show how to go about upgrading, that would be very useful. I can then gauge how easy or hard it will be.

Most of my site is managed using the third-party Static Pages Module and I want to move over to using the pages module contained within version 1.6. Is there a way to do this? In particular, I’m interested in keeping the urls that I currently have for the page.

My site is http://www.oneofus.co.uk if you need to check how it works and I can give more detailed information if you require it.

    Many thanks,

    Paul

    Hi, Paul—

Yes, there are issues. They’re addressed here - your options are to either remove the old Pages first, or upgrade them to Tome then upgrade EE.

I haven’t used Tome so I am not sure how this is handled.  Pages simply allows a unique URI to be assigned to a weblog entry, so if your static pages are, in fact, weblog entries, then this should not be too difficult.  But you will need to re-assign the URIs in the first-pages Party module.
