    Here is my entries tag:

    {exp:weblog:entries weblog="stream" orderby="date" sort="desc" limit="15" category="not 110" status="ExternallyVisible<?php include 'filters/entries.php' ?>"}

When I added ‘category=“not 110”’ uncategorized entries were excluded too.

This is contrary to the documentation:
“However, if you are using exclusion (category=“not 3|4”), then you will be shown all entries without those categories including those without any categories assigned. “
    http://expressionengine.com/docs/modules/weblog/parameters.html#par_category

I have even tried adding ‘uncategorized_entries=“y”’ to the entries tag but this didn’t make any difference.

Is there a configuration setting that could influence this?

    TIA

Are the uncategorized entries ones that have a custom status, and in that weblog?  I would first enable the Template Debugging in your Output and Debugging Preferences so you can see exactly how ExpressionEngine is reading your weblog entries tag.

The status is set to ExternallyVisible in the Default Status Group.

Under ‘CP Home ›  Admin ›  Output and Debugging Preferences’ I have these options:
    Generate HTTP Page Headers?
    Enable GZIP Output?
    Force URL query strings
    Redirection Method
Debug Preference (set to: ‘1: PHP/SQL error messages shown only to Super Admins’)
    Display SQL Queries?

There isn’t an option to enable Template Debugging.

    Thanks

Robert, that would mean that you are running a version prior to 1.5.0, which is a year old, and the online documentation is for the current version.  If you have a saved copy of the docs for the version you are running, you will not find that parameter or description of the behavior.  So, updating will take care of it for you!
