Clear the batch folder (script, module, etc.?)

    Hey all,

ExpressionEngine will not delete any of your images from your batch directory. Once you are finished with your batch processing and are satisfied, then you may delete them yourself via FTP or another method.

Just wondering about an efficient “other method” to clear the batch folder.

Does anyone know of a module, extension or desktop utility that will empty the batch folder, say, at the click of a button—other than an FTP program?

I’m trying to work out an uber-simple, drag-and-drop (and inexpensive) workflow for clients that lets them use the photo gallery module with ease. Any “leads” on a batch-folder-clearing whatsit would be appreciated!

    Thanks,

    R o B

I guess the assumption behind the current workflow is that the one who uploads the pictures to the batch-folder can as well delete them.

An easy way for the manually triggered deletion would probably be a little module that does it. It would only need that one ‘clear batch folder now’-button in the CP. If you create a Tab to the module’s settings page, it takes to clicks to get it done.
You could also call the delete-function with the cron-plugin when you see it fit.

Ahh, thank you silenz. I’m sure that writing add-ons is in my future, but doing one for this job won’t be necessary.

    File Manager Module

A fairly minimal number of clicks allows you to empty the batch folder, if you set up the batch folder as an upload destination. It also provides a way to batch-upload-and-resize, which will complement the desktop workflow for my client.
