Has anyone used it along with CodeIgniter? i.e. had the EE system folder in the root, and then run a seperate/custom CI application in a sub folder? For example:

    /index.php (for EE)
    /system (for EE)
    /customapp (for CI)
    /customapp/index.php (for CI)
    /customapp/application (for CI)

Right now I’m running a site with Wordpress, but going to be developing an application for the site with CI that should integrate seamlessly and right now it’s working, but it feels like a big hack getting my templates and navigation together.

The Pages module is free with the purchased version of EE but not the core? I don’t see it listed anywhere on the pricing page, which it should be.

Basically the 1 year subscription fee for $20 means I get free updates for that entire year on every module I’ve purchased including the Personal EE version?

The demo seems very broken. How do I preview or edit the Simple Commerce and Photo Gallery modules? In my opinion, the demo should be fully unlocked. Right now I don’t feel like I’m getting a taste of the modules. I’m not going to purchase a product unless I get to play with it first… especially the Commerce module.

    Thanks

The pages module is one of the modules you get with the paid-for version, yes.

It’s not exactly a subscription. You can use EE and continue to use it forever. The yearly fee gets you access to the download area, and thus new build updates and versions. You don’t have to renew to legally continue the use of your copy of EE, is my point.

What do you mean? Are we talking about the hosted demo? I have never used itmyself, but it comes with all first party modules, including the new MSM. The only restrictions are FTP access and PHP in your templates, which are disabled for obvious reasons.

Yeah, the hosted demo. I click Visit Gallery and it takes me to the CP home page. I can’t edit or add an item to the Commerce module… and I can’t even search in the “Choose Entry for Store Item” form… it takes me to a screen saying this feature is disabled in the demo.

I love CodeIngiter, and I’m sure EE is a great product, but it’s making it hard for me to decide if I want to purchase the Personal version and extra modules b/c I keep running into the “Sorry, you are not allowed to use this feature in the CP Demo.” screen. CI has a database utility, and file utility to easily manage a database and folders… why not use them to wipe the demo database and folders every so often so every feature can be used?

Well, you are entitled to support, post here. I am pretty certain that all modules are available with the demo. You are not, by any chance, talking about the free control pael demo?

I’m talking about the one I login to from here… http://expressionengine.com/sales/try

All the modules are there, but unless I’m missing something, I can’t seem to do much with them :/

Greeting, tilzinger - are you logged in and posting from the username that you purchased a hosted demo with? I do not see you as having a hosted demo at the moment, which is why I ask.  If you login with that username you’ll be able to post in our priority technical support forums, which are more appropriate for your questions.

    Thank you!

I haven’t purchased anything yet… I’m just checking out the demo via http://expressionengine.com/sales/try and logging in with demo/demo.

    I’m so confused. :D

Ah, well the demo of the control panel is really just that - a very simple demo. If you want to test actual features then you’ll need to download EECore, or for Simple Commerce and other similar features, buy the hosted demo.
