    Hi there,

I haven’t suceeded to understand the behaviour of the CP in respect to updating (the content of) templates and edits. Sometimes it works, sometimes it just throws me out to the CP Home, wihtout having changed anything. If I log out and log in again, it will work. But that’s not very convenient. If this owuld happen after a couple of hours not using the CP, ok. But in my case I would have said that independently of the last time I worked in the CP, it does it.

I’ve changed already the security settings from Cookie to Session and back, but that didn’t do it. There is something on the time interval (I set it to 200)... Don’t know really what that is.

Can anyone clear the sky for me, please?

    Thanks a lot!

Are you behind a firewall, or an ISP that rotates your IP addresses?  It may be no longer recognizing you as the user submitting the form if your IP changes.  You can disable Secure Forms to get around this, but that’s not extremely ideal, as it’s a very basic form of spam and cross-site request forgery prevention.  The hash expires if the page is left open too long as well, so that is another possibility.

A firewall isn’t really close to my computer - shouldn’t affect it. And no, no turning IPs whatsoever. Hmmm….

Try disabling Secure Forms for me just the same.

You mean “Process form data in Secure Mode?” to be set to “no”? Ok, done. I have both Session Types set to “Cookies”. And BTW: What is: Time Interval for Lockout?

That seems to work. Uff…. Thanks for that! (But why was it?!)

Something between you and the server is either changing or masking your IP.  It could be a firewall, proxy (even at the country level), ISP’s dynamic IP reassignment, a browser plugin, etc.  It would be difficult to pinpoint remotely without knowing your local network, your ISP, your country of origin, and your browser and OS.

Actually, EE is running on my proper computer. No other computer/server is involved… [For the notes: Running Mac OS X with Apache]

Are you using localhost or a virtual domain?  And is this straight Apache or are you using MAMP?  I vaguely recall a certain httpd configuration that would result in reporting your local IP address to Apache as 0.0.0.0 instead of 127.0.0.1.
