Hello fellow EE party people!  So I follow the forums more often than I post and once in awhile I’ll develop a site for friends or my own personal stuff.  After reading about a certain topic on the forums, I thought I would give back to a great community.

I am putting together a site dedicated to Expression Engine themes.  This has been a huge gripe with a lot of folks within our community.  The thing is…we have some amazing designers and developers as part of the EE community, and I want everyone to know about it.  We also have a pretty amazing community in general.

I’ve gotten the blessing from Mr. Rick Ellis himself and support from Ellis Lab in the form of some cool stuff that I’ll announce a little in a little bit.  I already have a couple people that are helping in various ways as well, but I am going to need a little bit more to make sure this is done right.

If this is something that has peaked your interest and you would like to help, please shoot me a PM and let me know if you are a designer or developer.  Any and all help is greatly appreciated.  I have some great stuff planned for the site and with the help of the EE community it can definitely push EE into new places.

Hopefully we can all make it into a great resource for folks that are just getting introduced to EE.

Thanks a ton for your time everyone!

Not just yet, mrlee.  Right now things are being planned and sedated is looking to get interested people involved in the site so that when it launches, there will be a decent selection.

Only thing I can tell you about myself is that I’ll be busy porting some of the more popular WordPress themes to ExpressionEngine, and you can see two examples of that linked in my signature.

Thanks for the links.  The new site is going to be a little different.  I haven’t seen anything online that is going to offer the kinds of resources that I am thinking of having.

The site being a theme repository is just an aspect of it.

Again, I appreciate the links and any ideas or feedback would be great when the site goes live.

Thanks for the link David.  I am going to try avoiding being just a theme repo.  I have a few ideas up my sleeve. 😊

If anyone has any suggestions as far as what they would like to see on a EE theme/resource site, I would love to hear them.  ANy ideas to garner interest.

I definitely want the site to be heavily community driven because we have a great community here and I would love to get that out there.

I am open to any ideas you fine EE folks might have.

    Thanks.

Thanks, this is the kind of encouragement I need to get moving with this site again.  It’s a work in progress that hasn’t received much attention lately because of a change in jobs but I do hope to put the finishing touches on the templates that are there and add a few more as time permits.

Sorry for the lack of updates.  Chris and I have been getting everything together behind the scenes.  Chris has been porting some amazing themes as well as putting together some of the stuff needed to launch the site.  I have been getting a ton of things organized.  We want to do this right and therefor are planning for it ahead of time instead of getting screwed when the site launches.

Rick has given us a blessing and we have some cool things planned when we launch the site.

I will post more info over the weekend or early next week.

    Thanks for the interest.

Hey folks.  So I was planning on getting a long winded post put together about this but I have been insanely busy the past few weeks with my non-web related life as has Chris.  Anyways, here is a little bit more info on the new site.

The new site is called Expressive Themes.  Chris has been working like a mad man getting some amazing themes ported to Expression Engine.  I have gotten permission from a bunch of great theme developers to release their themes on the site as well.  We are going to have a huge launch contest with more info provided as we get closer to the launch.  Rick has been gracious in offering some cool prizes for the launch contest to get folks involved.

I definitely want to get the great EE community involved more and more as things move along.  There is definitely a long term plan for where things will be going.  We’ll start off as a great resource for themes.  Not just theme downloads but a variety of concepts around themes and using EE in general.

There are some other things regarding the site that I am finalizing that once they are set in stone, I will announce.

Again, if anyone is interested in helping or has any suggestions, please let me know.  I am open any ideas folks have.

    Thanks for reading party people.
