When I do a search in all weblogs it returns lots of results. When I then to the same search but refined to an single weblog (that I know has that phrase in) it returns no results. I’ve tried this on all the weblogs and still just no results.

Also it sometimes adds three slashes “///” in front of the search word.

    I’m using 1.6

    Hi, textdriven—

That information is fairly vague.  Can you let us know exactly what options you’re choosing?  Are you choosing just titles? Titles and Entries?

Also, what build are you on (bottom of the control panel) and are you running any third party extensions?

I select a section (weblog) from the drop down, then enter any search term, then select “titles and entries”. No results are returned even though there were plenty when I didn’t select a specific section.

If I select just titles it works fine.

Ok it seems to be some problem with the format of the thing I was searching for. I was looking for a url link in Textile. My search term looked exactly like this…

    ":my-article-title

Yeah so other search are working fine it’s just searches with dashes in between the words don’t work when filtering by section.

textdriven, you didn’t mention which build of 1.6 you’re on. Also, which version on the other site?

Forget what I said above about it not working at all now, I didn’t type it right (edited out what I said).

Anyway, the problem is linked to dashes between the words and filtering by section. Basically if I do a search for something like “new-stuff-title” in all sections I get results. Then when I filter by one of those sections I see the results in, I get nothing.

That’ll make it easier to troubleshoot. I’ll test it later this morning.
