    Hi

    Reinstalled 1.6 and having real trouble getting RSS_2.0 to work.

    Error message is:

    The following tag has a syntax error:

    {exp:xml_encode}

    Please correct the syntax in your template.

    The name of the weblog is ‘news’ and i’ve tried reverted to the original RSS template from the library. The only change i have made is the first line.

    {assign_variable:master_weblog_name="news"}

    Getting same error on Atom feed. Feed validator just finds the HTML error page created. Am i missing something really obvious?

    What build number are you running?  It will show in the footer.  And if the exact same template was working before- it might be a good idea to re-upload the system/plugins/pi.xml_encode.php plugin- make sure it’s still there.  Meanwhile, can you post the full template you’re using- inside [ code ] tags?  I’ll see if I can replicate.

    Hi

    That fixed it. Strangely, the plugins directory was empty, and after uploading the files it worked fine.

    Only thing i can think of is that i didn’t set the permissions correctly for a directory on install or it may be that some of the files didn’t make it when uploading.

    Thanks

    This shouldn’t have been an install-time process, probably an FTP glitch.  Glad you got it working.  =)
