While the build number on the MSM changes in the download area, there is no other place giving info on new builds - including the Builds forum. I see there are new EE and EE Forum builds today…what about the MSM? Will we start seeing dedicated posts and build logs for that as well?

I’ll ask the crew for clarification for you, drusoicy.  I’m not sure how they’re handling that one.

Currently, of the three files in the MSM download only one contains code and that seems to not deserve its own, dedicated build log yet.  Also, since the Expansion is integrated so deeply into ExpressionEngine, the odds are any bugs with multiple Sites is going to be based in the ExpressionEngine files.  So, for now, their builds are joined at the hip and thus combined.

So whenever there is a build update for the normal version, we should automatically expect that there is also a new MSM build - but never anytime else (in other words, there will never be an MSM build update independent of an EE build update)?

For the time being, yes.
