I’d like to post custom content, (i.e. a weblog) into a member profile, and I’ve entered the EE tags into the Member Profile Homepage.  Sadly the tags are not parsed and just display as plain text.  Is there a way to get EE tags to parse succesfully in the Member Profile?

Perhaps there’s a better way to go about this as well, all help is appreciated.

The member profile templates use a restricted parser and so those weblog entries tags won’t work in there.  I have to admit that I’m a bit confused on what you’re doing.  If you want to post more details - like what kind of display you are attempting to achieve, perhaps we can come up with a workable solution?

We have a biodiesel station who wants to post daily prices for members of the site.  An intern will post the price somehow somewhere in EE, and then the price will be viewable on the member profile homepage.

I’ve looked at the member_manager extension, which seems to allow for inserting custom content for {include:member_manager} but I don’t see where the tag is, or if it’s possible to include on the member profile home page.

Those extension hooks aren’t tags you use in EE but are ways to hook into the underlying application - you would need PHP knowledge to utilize them.

Are these prices entered for each member, or is it just the same price for everyone?  I’m thinking that you would be best to show this on a general page and include member’s info on that page, instead of the other way around.

I’m going to move this to the how-to section in the meantime as that is more appropriate for this.

Right… to clarify, I was looking at what the member_manager hook does, and it seems to allow you to return any arbitrary content to it, then the membership parser replaces the {include:member_manager} tag with that content.  The membership parser uses tags like {include:messages_menu} to build the member profile pages.  The template source documentation claims that the {include:member_manager} tag is in the member_page template (see: http://expressionengine.com/templates/source/category/member_profiles/#member_page), but I don’t actually see this page when I look in the Member Profile Templates section of the EE admin.
