Okay, so I upgraded and it looked like things went fine. I got to install a module (pages) - total destruction. No problem, I backed up my db and I can figure it out - except for some reason when I dropped the tables in phpmyadmin and tried to restore I have no exp_sites.

The next thing that I do is re-intall the whole thing, empty the tables and then attempt to run a sql query to get the info back. Nope, tables aren’t matching up.

Re-install again and hope to just get the template date and the entries restored - nope, they don’t match up either.

So, my question is what to do?

How I fixed it - found an old copy of EE 1.4 - installed that and dropped tables and ran a sql query for the db I had backed up and it’s back, albeit - missing some things.

Now, I’ll try the upgrade again.

Upgrade went not that great - is there a way I can get a zip of 1.5?

If your backup is missing exp_sites, you can manually turn off that functionality by editing your 1.6 version of config.php:

    $conf[‘multiple_sites_enabled’] = “y” - change that to “n”

No worries - I convolutedly just used a recent install of Textpattern , added the entries I was missing to that and exported them into MT format and then re-installed 1.6 clean and imported them. Long way around, but it worked.
