In terms of EE stats module, does the reporting of guests include, for instance, yahoo slurping up some content? I notice they use multiple IP numbers to do so, like:

    74.6.20.231 - - [20/Jun/2007:21:49:40 -0400] “GET /ratesingles/rate1739.html HTTP/1.0” 200 2279 “-” “Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Yahoo! Slurp; http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/ysearch/slurp)”

I’ll double-check this, however I’m 99% sure that ExpressionEngine does not discern between robots and real visitors, and so yes, the “guests” number would include anything visiting the site.

I will check this though as I’m not at 100% certainty. =)

I have confirmed this - yes, they will show up as “guests”.

Bummer - yes, looking at the mysql tables, it appears that it picks up everything. It would be nice if there was some filter for that stuff, but you can’t have everything….
