I was hoping that somebody has had this issue and can help me out. I am trying to make a setup for mailing through Expression Engine (especially for forms module of devotee). I have had some support of them but they say that i have to ask Ellislab for a solution. The problem is that php-mail is not working so there are no confirmation mails send to a certain mail-adress. They said that i should try SMTP-mail settings but they are not working yet for me and i was wondering why?
The site is running on EE 2.8.1 and the forms-module is 3.4.1
The server is msrverhuur.nl and i have made a mail-adres which is .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
The settings which i have used for SMTP-settup are:
reply e-mail: .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
E-mail encoding: utf-8
E-mail debugging: “yes”
e-mail protocol: SMTP
smtp_port: 587, 465, 25 or 2525 all not working
smtp username: same as user ftp-acces
smtp-password: same as ftp-password
batch mode: “yes”
I get several errors like (port 465):
“An Error Was Encountered
Niet mogelijk om een e-mail te versturen op dit moment.
hello:
De volgende SMTP error is opgetreden:
Niet mogelijk e-mail te versturen via PHP SMTP. Uw server is misschien niet geconfigureerd om e-mail te versturen via deze methode.”

(port 587):
