    Hello,

I just recently discovered that CAPTCHA was not activated in a specifc client’s channel, and they got bombarded with comment spam overnight.  I’ve since then corrected this to prevent future comment spam, but I’m wondering how best to delete all the existing comment spam that is set to open (since default settings are to not moderate).

I’ve looked in the forum but didn’t find any solutions.  I’m trying to find a way to do a “select all” on the default comment module instead of having to manually click on each comment link and set each one to status closed.  And even then, it keeps all the comments there instead of deleting them altogether from the database.

Unfortunately, I’m running EE on EngineHosting, which does not have CP or any sort of friendly wisywig such as phpMyAdmin that would allow me to go into the database manually and at least be able to do a multi-select in the appropriate table.

Is there some way to multi-select comments and delete larger batches at at time to speed up by spam clean-up?

I’m running EE ver. 2.5.3 and Comments Module ver. 2.3 - I realize they’re older, and wondered if newer versions have added comment multi-select or another similar functionality.

Thank you so much for your help!
    Robert
