Need to verify if it is possible to customize the user account dashboard (and assuming they are the same for all users in the same user group).
We want to show channel content in their dashboard that they subscribed to, as well as other content like offers, announcements, their favorited content.
We are assuming that the dashboard is where users land after they login to the site.
Is this possible? What plug-ins/add-ons do we need?

Plugins and addons not currently. There SHOULD be an option to select theme by member groups instead of users. We are currently doing this similarity by overriding css (inline css) to hide various area of the cp theme… we were just talking about making a plugin to do this.

Sounds to me like you are going to have to build a custom user dashboard - I’d suggest looking at Solspace User to start.
