    I’m unable to login to control panel after upgrading from EE2.8.1 to EE2.9.0. I’ve read many posts and tried many things but none of the solutions proposed seems to work for me. Interestingly, it only happens in production; locally works fine and I’m able to login.

    THings I’ve tried are:

    - deleted my expressionengine/cache/ dir
    - deleted browser cookines and cache
    - added $config variables to my config (below)

    $config['cookie_prefix'] = '';
    $config['cookie_path'] = '';
    $config['cookie_domain'] = 'julianomoreira.com';
    $config['user_session_type'] = 'c';
    $config['admin_session_type'] = 's';
    $config['cookie_secure'] = 'n';
    $config['expire_session_on_browser_close'] = 'y';

    Thanks,

    Juliano

    That is frustrating!

    A few things that have helped me in the past with similar issues worth a try…

    1. Try a different browser, one you rarely use when logging in
    2. If you have .htaccess running disable it temporarily and try logging in
    3. Make sure you uploaded all 2.9 files, including root>index.php and if you use it root>admin.php

    I’m having same problem! Just get either a blank screen or a login screen that won’t accept the login. Were you able to resolve the issue

    Guys,

    I’m coming back here to share what worked for me. It’s not a good solution but you can all try.

    I reversed back my local repository in Git and redid the upgrade. This time, I ran the installer locally and on the remote server. I guess it doesn’t matter if you already updated your files locally. The installer needs to be run on the remote server as well. Also, take a look at Updater. According to reviews, it works wonders. I still need to figure out a better update process since I have a few things out of the norm running. I’m going to write a blog post soon.

    Thanks,

    Juliano

    The issue I had was resolved by using $config[‘allow_extensions’] = ‘n’ in config.php and then working out which extension was causing problems. This was in a 2.1.3 to 2.9.0 upgrade.
