Discussion Forum Error after EE upgrade from 2.1.3 to 2.8.1

Hello there,
I did upgrade the EE from 2.1.3 to the latest one, but I have discussion forum installed, which throws errors like:
```
Fatal error: Call to undefined method EE_Functions::remove_double_slashes() in /var/www/www.mywebsite.org/public_html/system/expressionengine/modules/forum/mod.forum.php on line 1000
```
Can you please advise me whether I need to upgrade to alter some mark-up or db table.
I guess I need to upgrade in any cases 😊

p.s. my version of DF module is 3.1.0. I’m trying it on EE 2.8.1
