Submitted total entries in category?

I didnt find any solution from docs, that could pull total number of entries of channel categories.
I found only channel for it.

So I assume that its impossible to show total entries from certain category?
Like:
Football: (4)
Food: (10)
...

Where Football and Food are channel categories.

Ideas how this could be done?
