Anybody heard how the 2.8.2 developer preview is going and when we might see the update publicly available?
Also, I have seen a few addon dev sites (ex. SolSpace) saying they are compatible with 2.9.x. Anyone heard anything there?

Anyone, by chance? I have several sites to upgrade from 2.7.3 to 2.8 and I really don’t want to do them all and have 2.8.2 become available a few days later. EL has now dropped comments from their blog posts and ignored this question when asked on Twitter, so anyone with any insight would be appreciated, as EL doesn’t seem to want to answer it themselves.
I realize timelines for these things are hard to pin down, but they must have SOME idea by now.

EL are always quiet with release dates 😊
I’d just upgrade to the latest version if you really need to upgrade. If there’s no rush just be patient!

FYI..if anyone “has heard” and says anything they would be violating the NDA they signed to be part of the dev preview.
Also - if you have a bunch of sites to upgrade I wouldn’t be the one to jump on a fresh release right when it comes out anyway…

Oh, 2.8.2 instead of 2.9? Anyway, I have so much work already that I (as always) wish that bugfixes could be available asap when they have been covered by zip-files. This is of course, the case only if those fixes do not need more than replacing files.
...back to wonderland called “odd project what I started just becaus I had to buy a service from one provider to see if it is good enough for my present site - and now I am working with one wild idea”-Project. LOL

@Boyink! I didn’t mean for anyone to violate an NDA. However, I am not always on top of EL happenings and thought maybe something public may have been mentioned that I missed.

I’ve read old blog entry about releases and when they might come out.
If there were coming bug-fix Release, it should have come out after about 4 weeks after the Feature Release. So I think there will never be such as EE 2.8.2 according to that blog entry.
And when its about Feature Release, it takes 12-14 weeks after last release. If that’s the case the 2.9 should come out in the following 2 weeks.

Now that 2.9.0 is released, I don’t get why EL posted to the blog that a 2.8.2 maintenance release was in preview:
