I have a channel containing articles of scientific publications. Some of these publications have titles much longer than the 75 characters of the title of ee.

I added a field to store long title the title of the publication, but the original title and the URL is truncated relative, and give rise to duplication.

The only solution seems to change the length of the title field on the table exp_channel_titles

Can I change the length of the title without doing too much damage?

There are some threads in these forums that describe how to extend the Title field limit, it does involve modifying the database field as I remember - do a search (I can;t find the particular threads atm)
