We are building an 18-site MSM installation and each site needs many custom fields. We are concerned about MySQL’s column limit of 4096 columns, as this limits the number of custom fields per site to just over 227.
14 of the sites are effectively clones of each other so ideally we would share field groups between these sites, but it does not appear to be possible.
Do you have any pointers or recommendations of how we could overcome this limit?
