Sorry if this seems remedial, but I am just moving from EE 1.7 to 2.7.3 with my tech person working on a beta of my website, and I can’t for the live of me stay logged into the new EE2.73 panel after clicking the ‘auto login’ box many times. I’ve tried clearing the cache in EE, my browser, etc., and it doesn’t work. I always get logged out. Meanwhile in my old EE 1.7 control panel, I remain logged in. Same browser, same username/password, yet I stay logged in one place but not in the new Panel. Any suggestions?

Same problem for months (EE 2.7.2),  but it’s only kicking me out of the control panel. When I only login at the frontend it keeps me logged in.

Sometimes I get an alertbox in which I have to re-enter my password. But 9 out of 10 times I am logged out.

My thought: it has something to do with the fact I have multiple tabs opened, logged into different EE sites.

Didn’t have the problem before though.

I have the exact same problem and the worst part is that it’s totally random, most of the times I just get a white page with an unstyled text “logged out” and I just press the back button and it’s all good.

Other times the control panel will randomly just go back to the main page without saving a setting or submitting an entry.

We’re having the same problem since we moved from EE1 to EE2. We are in v2.7.2.

We can stay logged in for as long as we want, but only if we don’t have any control panel windows open. If we have windows or tabs open, at some point we’ll get the log in screen instead of whatever it was we’d had open in the control panel. Seems to be an inactivity thing, but haven’t been able to figure out the exact pattern. This is really annoying because we love having multiple windows or tabs open so that we can copy-paste from one to another or just keep a tab open as a reference.

Anyone figure out a solution yet?

Seeing the exact same issue as Dovla noted above. I have never had this experience in many years dealing with EE, i’m guessing it is a recently introduced bug?

Update - I switched my php version from 5.3.27 FastCGI to 5.3.27 CGI and that appears to have fixed the issue.

How odd… I’ve been suffering thru this problem myself for the last week and a half.  Nothing.  Then Google must have picked up this thread because it’s exactly the issue I’ve had myself.  I’m not sure I am able to switch my PHP version.  If so, I’ll give that a try and see if it solves my issue.  Otherwise, I’m opening a bug as well (more the merrier right?) and hopefully this will be resolved shortly.  Thanks for bringing this up. I thought it was just me.
