Several years ago I was forced to unexpectedly change ISPs on short notice. Before relocating, I did an sql dump of the blog I had in EE Version 1.6.., but I started completely anew on my new ISP using EE Version 2, thinking that I would no longer need my older articles. The situation has now changed, and I would like to resurrect those old articles. Initially, I thought I’d just load EE V1.6.. on my local machine and use phpmyadmin to restore the database and perhaps upgrade that to V2 in hopes of ultimately merging the data with my current blog. Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be working for me since the data doesn’t upload into V1.6 when I try to import the sql dump file. Phymyadmin just thinks about it for a few minutes, and then resorts to a blank workspace.

Any suggestions for getting my old articles from the sql dump file into Version 2?

Any time I have to migrate with EE, I like using this little tool

    http://devot-ee.com/add-ons/data-import

It’s well worth the $25. You should be able to pretty easily import your EE1 db with it.
