Filtering entries in the Control Panel fails to update [EE 2.5.3]

    Good day.

    First, thanks in advance for any insight or direction.

    This is an install of EE 2.5.3.

    One of our clients recently reported that when trying to filter entries in the Control Panel (Edit Channel Entries page), the indicator GIF appeared, spinning continuously and the filter ultimately failed to produce any results. The same result occurs when trying to search or navigate to any of the subsequent list of paginated entries.

    I can successfully “filter” by channel, however, if I go directly to the channel through Content > Edit > [Channel Name].

    No errors are reported by the debugger and no JS errors appear in the Console log. On first look, it appears to be an AJAX issue but, again, no alerts. I’ve tried reinstalling the Default Control Panel theme and switching to the Corporate theme, but the issue persists. Also, the issue is consistent across browsers.

    Any thoughts?
