    Greetings all,

I’ve got a small site that’s hosted on NS. Lately, I’m getting lots of 503 errors (service unavailable). I contacted tech support and they said they got a resource error and that I should make a customized php.ini (or that they would do it for $60). Also, NS wouldn’t support any changes to php.ini! And I’m not a PHP person….

I’ve got a handful of small sites on EngineHosting and Nexcess and I haven’t had a problem like this, of my site overloading the server that is.

My question is: would there be something in EE that would be causing the server to get overloaded? Or should I just move the site to another host?

    Thanks in advance….

I’m guessing they just want you to increase the memory limit.  Do yourself a favor and just get a managed VPS and learn more about managing a server.  I highly recommend WiredTree.

Yes, that’s what they said on the phone (not very friendly, by the way!) — increase the memory limit. I’m assuming that this is an issue of theirs and not some weird malfunction of EE; this was my first EE website, so I was thinking maybe I didn’t get some setting right….

But for now I’ll step aside from the managed VPS and learning about managing a server. I just don’t think that’s my thing….

    Thanks!
