Hi there,

So I just switched our website over from in-house hosting to a hosting company. Basically, I dumped the database and recreated it, and tar’ed all of the website files and extracted them on the new server, changing paths where appropriate.

This mostly worked, but there have been a few issues; the biggest is that the Control Panel is extremely finicky. Seemingly at random, however, going to the admin page to login results in a blank white page with nothing but

C=login

on the page. Looking in the network inspector, the request for the page comes back as 401 Unauthorized.

Additionally, when navigating the Control Panel when it does let you log in, at times you’ll stop seeing anything get rendered, leaving just the raw text. It can be something like

or a whole page of what I can only assume is pre-processed template code:

I had initially set the template directory in the general configuration incorrectly, which resulted in a lot of these failures. However, now that I have that fixed, I’m still getting these strange failures. And it’s not specific to any browser. Chrome, Firefox, and Safari have all had trouble. Any ideas?

Following those directions seem to have alleviated the issues plaguing our mediatemple-hosted website.
