We have a Freeform field for uploading files to an EE directory.  However, it appears there’s no way in EE to allow for Guests to upload to a directory?  Under File Upload Preferences we can see each of the Member Groups we’ve created but there is simply no option present for Guests.

Am I missing something?  Could this really be a limitation of the CMS?  If so, it’s a pretty big oversight.

Yes, you are right. Guest couldn’t upload the files within any file upload directory. EE restricts the member groups “Banned”, “Guests” and “Pending” from uploading the files. Some hacks can be applied.

But it would be great to develop an extension using hook “freeform_module_insert_end”.

Actually, I found out Freeform DOES allow for non-member uploads. The issue was that I had XSS enabled on file uploads in EE. Disabling that solved the issue.
