Is anyone having the following issue?

I installed a new installation of EE 2.7.0, and noticed that when creating a new channel field type of “File”, the field does not save after clicking the ‘Submit’ button.  The page refreshes, but never submits.  The allowed file type/directory are both set to “all” - the other fields, besides label/short name are either empty or at their default state.

I get no error message - the page refreshes but the new channel field is not saved after clicking Submit.

    Can anyone replicate this?

    Hi Christian,

You will need to create at least one upload directory from Content -> Files -> File Upload Preferences for having “Allowed Directories” as “All” in file field settings.

While upload file from edit or publish page, you can see all the directories options.

The “All” option (of file field setting) is for showing all the upload directories while upload file from edit or publish page.

    I don’t think that its a bug.

Please share your further findings on it.

    Hi Everyone,

I neglected to post a follow-up on this thread.  Yes, this is NOT a bug.  I failed to create an update directory initially, therefore the reason for the error.  It would be nice, however, for EE to code in an “error” message indicating that an upload directory needs to first be created.  It didn’t dawn on me because I was so quickly setting up a new site, until I had time to really go through and realize there was no upload directory.
