Nevermind, it was that the version of PHP wasn’t high enough. Duh!

    Hi,

When I attempt to install Core, I get to the “Enter Your Settings” screen but it is un-themed (white background and no styling) and incomplete. The page ends with the words “Localization Settings” and “Your Timezone” and that’s all. I’ve attached a screenshot.

I’ve installed EE2 before, the commercial version, with no problems. I’ve re-checked all the permissions.

I also re-downloaded EE2 Core and started from scratch by deleting the install and re-uploading all the files, but nothing changed (reset all the necessary permissions, too).

    Any ideas?

Oh, and I tried in different browsers, too. Same result.

Edit: it installed fine in MAMP, but not on-line.

I’m also having this exact issue, so any help would be greatly appreciated!  Bluehost claims to have the lastest version of PHP running on my server, so I’m not sure what else to try.

Sorry, I’ve only installed a few EE websites so am not a veteran. Is your Themes Folder Path entered correctly on the General Configuration page?

Um, here (https://my.bluehost.com/cgi/help/386) it says that Bluehost by default runs PHP 5.2. EE requirements are PHP 5.2.4, which is maybe what Bluehost means by 5.2, but that page doesn’t say. Through the CPanel at my hosting company I switched the PHP setting from 5.2 to 5.3 and that’s what fixed EE for me. The aforementioned Bluehost page has a link that leads to an explanation of how to switch from 5.2 to 5.3.

Yup. That is what fixed it for me.  Everything is up and running as intended. Thanks, Richard!
